Nascido em Recife (Pernambuco, Brasil), Camilo Cavalcante é produtor, guionista e realizador. Em 2014, realizou A HISTÓRIA DA ETERNIDADE, a sua primeira longa-metragem, que estreou no Rotterdam International Film Festival e recebeu 28 prémios. Em 2020, lançou a sua segunda longa de ficção, KING KONG EN ASUNCIÓN, que ganhou 18 prémios, entre eles, Melhor Filme (Júri Oficial) e Prémio do Público no 48º. Festival de Gramado. Realizou os documentários BECO (2019) e RUA AURORA-REFÚGIO DE TODOS OS MUNDOS (2023), que estreou no 28º. É Tudo Verdade-Festival Internacional de Documentários. Realizou, ainda, várias séries documentais para TV e 14 curtas-metragens. Atualmente, transita entre Brasil e Portugal, onde frequenta o doutoramento em Media Artes na Universidade da Beira Interior, pela qual é também Mestre em Cinema. Possui graduação em Jornalismo pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, estudou Roteiro Cinematográfico na Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV, Cuba, e frequentou o curso de extensão em Transcinema: Cinema, Pintura e Arte Contemporânea pela PUC-Rio.

In 2020, he released his second feature-length film, KING KONG EN ASUNCIÓN, which won 18 awards, among which the Best Film (Official Jury) and the Public Award in the 48th Gramado Film Festival. He directed the documentaries BECO (2019) and RUA AURORA-REFÚGIO DE TODOS OS MUNDOS (2023), which premiered at the 28th It’s All True - International Documentary Film Festival. He has also directed several TV documentary series and 14 short films. He currently spends his time between Brazil and Portugal, where he is studying a PhD in Media Arts at the University of Beira Interior, from which he also obtained a master’s degree in Cinema. He graduated in Journalism at the Federal University of Pernambuco, and studied Cinematography at the International School of Film and TV, in Cuba, and attended the extension course in Transcinema: Cinema, Painting and Contemporary Art at PUC-Rio.

Inês T. Alves (Portugal, 1987) estudou Narrativas Culturais, e Cinema Documental na University of the Arts London (bolseira da F. C. Gulbenkian). Inês é realizador e produtora cultural. Tem experiência no desenvolvimento de oficinas de cinema com diversas comunidades, tendo colaborado com a associação Os Filhos de Lumière, com a Videoteca de Lisboa e outras instituições. Desde 2015 organiza o MOVIMENTO, uma oficina colaborativa de cinema. O seu documentário de curta-metragem NO ÂNGULO DAS RUAS ganhou o prémio Cinema Novo no Festival Porto/Post/Doc e a sua primeira longa-metragem documental “Águas do Pastaza”, que estreou na Berlinale 2022, ganhou o Prémio CAMACHO COSTA e o Prémio da Juventude no CineEco 2022.

Inês T. Alves (Portugal, 1987) studied Cultural Narrative and Documentary Cinema at the University of the Arts London (Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation scholarship). Inês is a director and producer of cultural productions. She has experience in organising film workshops in several different communities, having collaborated with the “Os Filhos de Lumière” association, Lisbon Videotheque and other institutions. From 2015 onwards she has organised MOVIMENTO, a collaborative film workshop. Her short film documentary entitled NO ÂNGULO DAS RUAS won the New Cinema Award at the Porto/Post/Doc Film and Media festival and her first feature-length film documentary called “Águas do Pastaza”, which premiered at Berlinale 2022, won the CAMACHO COSTA Award and the Youth Award at CineEco 2022.

Investigador integrado (desde 2015) e coordenador do pólo do INET-md na FMH (desde 2023) e, ainda, coordenador-adjunto do CEAP (FMH). Tem um doutoramento em Estudos Artísticos – Estudos do Cinema e Audiovisual pela FLUL (2013), um mestrado em Film Studies pela The University of Iowa (2001) e uma licenciatura em Ciências da Comunicação pela NOVA FCSH (1998). Teve uma bolsa de pós-doc. no CRIA (2014) e atualmente investiga a relação entre a dança e o cinema. É ainda membro da equipa de três projetos financiados pela FCT.

Integrated researcher (since 2015) and coordinator of the INET-md centre at the FMH (since 2023), and also assistant coordinator of CEAP (FMH). He has a PhD in Art Studies – Film and Audiovisual Studies obtained at FLUL (2013), a master’s degree in Film Studies from the University of Iowa (2001) and a degree in Communication Sciences from NOVA FCSH (1998). He obtained a post-PhD scholarship at CRIA (2014) and is currently researching the relationship between dance and cinema. He is also a team member of three projects funded by the FCT.

Licenciado em Biologia, pela Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade do Porto, tem estado, na maior parte da sua vida profissional, ligado à formação e comunicação dos temas de Ambiente e da Sustentabilidade. Trabalha na LIPOR há vários anos, estando ligado, também, às áreas da Responsabilidade Social e da Sustentabilidade Corporativa, tendo desenvolvido projetos em várias áreas, nomeadamente a Agenda 21 e a SA8000. Atualmente integra a Divisão de Comunicação e Marca, onde é um dos responsáveis pela gestão dos suportes de comunicação interna e externa e onde continua a desenvolver projetos de Responsabilidade Social. Tem um gosto especial pela escrita e pela imagem e a sua importância na desconstrução de temas complexos na comunicação.

A Biology graduate from Porto University, he has dedicated most of his working life to training and communication in the areas of the Environment and Sustainability. He has worked at LIPOR (Municipalities Association for Sustainable Waste Management of Greater Porto) for several years, and is also active the areas of Social Responsibility and Corporate Sustainability, having carried out projects in a range of areas, namely Agenda 21 and SA8000. He currently is part of the Marketing and Brand Department, where he is one of a team in charge of the management of internal and external marketing material, and where he continues to carry out Social Responsibility projects. He is especially keen on the written word and images, and their importance in breaking down complex topics in communication.

Miguel Soares é jornalista, realizador e autor de programas e podcasts na rádio. Prémio Gazeta de Jornalismo 2019-2020. Prémio Podes de melhor podcast rádio de 2020. Edita e é a voz dos noticiários da tarde da Antena 1. Apresenta, semanalmente, os programas Old Friends e Verdes Anos na estação pública. Durante vários anos escreveu regularmente na imprensa sobre música e cinema - tema da monografia com que se licenciou. Tem curso de Fotografia Avançada da Oficina da Imagem e Master em Cinema Documental do IPCI.

Miguel Soares is a journalist, director and author of radio programmes and podcasts. He won the Gazeta Journalism Award 2019-2020, and the Podes Award for the best radio podcast in 2020. He is the editor and newsreader of afternoon news programmes for Antena 1. He presents the weekly programmes Old Friends and Verdes Anos on the publicly owned radio station. He wrote in the press regularly for several years about music and cinema, the topic of his graduation monograph. He has a course in Advanced Photography from the Image Workshop and a master’s degree in Documental Cinema from the IPCI.

Cristina Mota foi membro fundador e da direção do Cineclube da Feira desde 1995 e esteve como produtora no Festival Luso-brasileiro desde o seu início. Em 2012 cofundou a distribuidora Nitrato Filmes e desde aí tem estado envolvida em vários projetos distribuição e exibição cinematográfica e participado nos mais importantes mercados e festivais de cinema do mundo. Em 2017, com o seu sócio Américo Santos reabriram o Cinema Trindade e desde aí tem estado a gerir esta histórica sala de cinema do Porto.

Cristina Mota has been a founder and board member of the Cineclube da Feira since 1995 and has been a producer at the Luso-Brazilian Festival since its inception. In 2012 she co-founded the distribution company Nitrato Filmes and since then she has been involved in various film distribution and exhibition projects and participated in the world's most important film markets and festivals. In 2017, with her partner Américo Santos, they reopened Cinema Trindade and since then she has been managing this historic cinema in Porto.

Atriz portuguesa, nascida em 1940. Apesar de ter iniciado a sua carreira artística como bailarina clássica, tornou-se num dos grandes símbolos do "Cinema Novo". O seu papel mais célebre foi o de Ilda em Os Verdes Anos (1963), filme que marcou a afirmação de uma nova vaga do cinema português. Tornou-se numa das intérpretes mais requisitadas pelos realizadores contemporâneos. Trabalhou com Paulo Rocha, em Mudar de Vida (1967) e O Rio do Ouro (1998), sob as ordens de João Botelho, em Conversa Acabada (1982) e Tempos Difíceis (1988), com Fernando Lopes, em O Delfim (2002), e foi uma das atrizes prediletas de Manoel de Oliveira, que a dirigiu em Vale Abraão (1993), A Caixa (1996), Viagem ao Princípio do Mundo (1997), Inquietude (1998), Je Rentre à la Maison (Vou Para Casa, 2001) e O Princípio da Incerteza (2002). Her most celebrated role was as Ilda in Os Verdes Anos (1963), a flagship film of a new wave in Portuguese cinema. She became one of the most in-demand actresses. She worked with Paulo Rocha in Mudar de Vida (1967) and O Rio do Ouro (1998), João Botelho in Conversa Acabada (1982) and Tempos Difíceis (1988), and Fernando Lopes in O Delfim (2002). She was a preferred actress of Manoel de Oliveira, who directed her in Vale Abraão (1993), A Caixa (1996), Viagem ao Princípio do Mundo (1997), Inquietude (1998), Je Rentre à la Maison (2001) and O Princípio da Incerteza (2002). In theatre, her leading roles were in O Impostor-Geral (1965), where she worked alongside Raul Solnado and Armando Cortez, Braço Direito Precisa-se (1966), by Manuel Pressler, also starring Barroso Lopes and Francisco Nicholson, and Desculpe Se o Matei (1966), again alongside Raul Solnado.

Caterina Cucinotta é professora auxiliar convidada na Faculdade de Ciências da Comunicação da Universidade Rey Juan Carlos de Madrid (Espanha). Doutorada em Ciências da Comunicação, Cinema e Televisão, pela universidade NOVA, desenvolveu, entre 2017 e 2023, o projeto de pós-doutoramento “Figurinos e textura espacial no cinema português dos últimos 50 anos” no Instituto de História Contemporânea. Membro da direção da AIM, Associação dos Investigadores da Imagem em Movimento, coordena o GT de Cinema e Materialidades. É autora dos livros “Viagem ao cinema através do seu vestuário” (2018) e “Figurinos e figurinistas no cinema em Portugal. Conceitos para novas materialidades” (2023) e membro da equipa do projeto exploratório FCT “Speculum, filmar-se e ver-se ao espelho”. Trabalha a história do cinema e a comunicação audiovisual através dos Costume Studies, mise-en-scène, ofícios femininos, técnicas e arte.

Caterina Cucinotta is an invited assistant professor at the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the Rey Juan Carlos University of Madrid (Spain). After obtaining a PhD in Communication Sciences, Cinema and Television at the NOVA University, between 2017 and 2023 she carried out a post-PhD project entitled “Costumes and spatial texture in Portuguese cinema in the last 50 years” at the Institute of Contemporary History. Part of the management of the Association of Moving Images Researchers (AIM), she supervises the Cinema and Materiality Working Group. She is the author of the books “Viagem ao cinema através do seu vestuário” (Journey through cinema through its clothing) (2018) and “Figurinos e figurinistas no cinema em Portugal. Conceitos para novas materialidades” (Costume and costume designers in Portuguese cinema. Concepts and new materiality) (2023) and a member of the FCT exploratory project “Speculum, filmar-se e ver-se ao espelho” (Speculate, film and look in the mirror). She works on the history of cinema and audiovisual communication through Costume Studies, mise-en-scène, female workshops, techniques and art.

Fotógrafo e realizador português, especializado em História Natural. Mestre em Wildlife Documentary Production pela Universidade de Salford, Inglaterra. Licenciado em Comunicação e Design Multimédia pelo Instituto Politécnico de Coimbra. Em 2014 fundou a Wildstep Productions, produtora independente especializada em conteúdos de História Natural e Ambiente com o objetivo de chegar ao grande público conectando Arte, Ciência e Conservação. As suas produções foram emitidas pela TV portuguesa e internacional (SIC, RTP1, TVE, Wild Planet, HRT e Planete + e foram premiadas em vários festivais de cinema, obtendo recordes de audiência no formato História Natural em Portugal. Participou como operador de câmara e de som em várias produções em Espanha, Peru, Brasil e Argentina. Como fotógrafo de natureza publicou na National Geographic Magazine e foi distinguido em vários concursos internacionais. Orador convidado em conferências, escolas e universidades.

Portuguese photographer and director specialised in Natural History. Master’s degree in Wildlife Documentary Production at Salford University, England. Graduate in Communication and Multimedia Design at Coimbra Polytechnic Institute. In 2014 he founded Wildstep Productions, an independent production company specialised in History, Nature and Environmental content. The mission of the company is to cater for mass audiences by connecting Art, Science and Conservation. Its productions have been broadcast on Portuguese and international television channels (SIC, RTP1, TVE, Wild Planet, HRT and Planete+) and have won awards at several film festivals. Its productions have broken viewership records for Natural History programmes in Portugal. He has taken part as a cameraman and sound engineer in several productions in Spain, Peru, Brazil and Argentina. His work as a nature photographer has been published in the National Geographic Magazine and he has won awards in several international contests. He is an invited speaker in conferences, schools and universities.

Afonso Mendonça é um jovem de 24 anosnatural de Lisboa e que vive no concelho de Seia, na Póvoa Velha, desde 2008. Trabalha num negócio familiar de turismo rural, tendo-se licenciado em Turismo e Lazer pela Escola Superior de Turismo e Hotelaria do Instituto Politécnico da Guarda. Vive apaixonado pela natureza e pela serra da Estrela. É presidente do Clube de Montanhismo de Seia há dois anos. Viaja sempre que possível em carros antigos, tendo já visitado 38 países.

Afonso Mendonça is a 24-year-old from Lisbon who has lived in the municipality of Seia, in Póvoa Velha, since 2008. He works in a family-run rural tourism business and has a degree in Tourism and Leisure from the Escola Superior de Turismo e Hotelaria of the Instituto Politécnico da Guarda. He is passionate about nature and the Serra da Estrela mountain range. He has been president of the Seia Mountaineering Club for two years. He travels whenever possible in vintage cars and has visited 38 countries.

Francisca Lavrador de Sousa tem 17 anos e nasceu e cresceu em Seia. Neste momento, frequenta o 12º ano do Curso de Línguas e Humanidades em simultâneo com o ensino supletivo do Conservatório, onde se encontra a terminar o 8º grau de violino. Desde cedo tem interesse pelas causas ambientais, em certa parte devido ao contacto com o CineEco desde que tem memória.

Francisca Lavrador de Sousa is 17 years old and was born and raised in Seia. He is currently attending the 12th school year of the Languages and Humanities Course, simultaneously supplementing his education at the Music Conservatory, where he is finishing the 8th grade in violin. He has been interested in environmental causes since a young age, partly through coming into contact with CineEco for as long as he can remember.

Natural de Seia, atualmente a frequentar o curso de Direito na Universidade de Lisboa. Participa pela primeira vez neste festival, tendo como um dos seus grandes interesses a 7ª Arte.

Born in Seia, he is currently attending a Law degree at Lisbon University. He is taking part in this festival for the first time given that the seventh art is one of his great interests.

Tem 22 anos, é natural da Guarda e vive em Fornos de Algodres. É licenciada em Estudos Artísticos pela Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Coimbra, onde estudou cinema, teatro e música. Atualmente está a fazer um estágio profissional nas Aldeias de Montanha, onde alia o mundo das artes ao das aldeias e as suas gentes. Criou o Teatro Amador de Fornos de Algodres, onde exerce funções como encenadora, atriz e tudo o que engloba o mundo do espetáculo. Tem o 6º grau do conservatório de música e participou em vários projetos cinematográficos.

She is 22 years old, from Guarda and lives in Fornos de Algodres. She graduated in Artistic Studies at Coimbra University, where she studied film, theatre and music. She is currently doing a professional training course in the Mountain Villages, where she brings the world of arts to the villages and their residents. She created the Fornos de Algodres Amateur Theatre, where she multitasks as a stage director, actress and everything involved in putting on shows. She has the 6th grade in the music conservatory and has taken part in several cinematographic projects.

Maria Inês Mota Borges, tem 16 anos, é orgulhosamente senense e estuda na Escola Secundaria de Seia no 12º ano, na área de Ciências e Tecnologias, onde desempenha o cargo de Presidente da Associação de Estudantes. Nos tempos livres, faz voluntariado na delegação de Seia da Juventude e da Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa. Foi sempre adepta de desporto, tendo já representado o SenaClube no voleibol feminino. Sempre que pode, gosta de ir ao cinema e de participar em causas ambientais, tendo já participado em campanhas de reflorestação na serra da Estrela.

Maria Inês Mota Borges is 16 years old and is a proud Seia native. She is currently studying the 12th school year at Seia secondary school, in the area of Sciences and Technologies, where she is the President of the Students Association. In her free time, she is a volunteer at the Seia Youth delegation and the Portuguese Red Cross. She has always liked sport and has played for SenaClube female volleyball team. Whenever she can, she likes to go to the cinema and support environmental causes, having taken part in reforestation campaigns in Serra da Estrela.

Rodrigo Oliveira tem 17 anos e frequenta o curso de Ciências e Tecnologias, na Escola Secundária de Seia. No seu percurso académico, foi distinguido com diplomas de mérito escolar, em resultado do seu desempenho e dedicação. O contacto com a natureza envolvente da serra da Estrela permitiu-lhe, desde cedo, reconhecer a importância das questões ambientais, questões essas que lhe suscitam cada vez mais interesse.

Rodrigo Oliveira is 17 years old and attends the Sciences and Technologies course at Seia Secondary School. The quality and effort he puts into his academic work has earned him performance merit diplomas at school. Coming into close contact with the nature surrounding Serra da Estrela opened his eyes from an early age to the importance of environmental issues, which he is increasingly immersed in.
